Dangerous Drugs - Menactra
In 2005, the FDA and the CDC released a report connecting Menactra, a meningitis vaccine, with at least five incidences of Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS) in teengaers, aged 17 or 18. The vaccine is manufactured by Sanofi Pasteur. Guillain Barre Syndrome is a severe neurological disorder that may occur frequently in healthy individuals, sometimes after certain identifiable infections. GBS can cause weakness in the legs and arms and require hospitilization. All patients diagnosed developed weakness or abnormal sensations in the arms or legs two to four weeks after vaccination.
